Adjusting

We are starting Week 3 of Blaine having to go to Pocatello or Salt Lake to work. He was laid of the end of March and we thank our lucky stars that some of our family needed work done. For the past two weeks, he has been in Pocatello with his cousin Tara & Justin, which allowed him to come home on the weekend. But this week he is going to Salt Lake where his Uncle Tom has Blaine working on finishing a basement. Tom has not seen Blaine since he was about 15 years old and for him to hear about Blaine needing work and actually giving him something to do is nothing short of amazing. He is truly our angel. We could not thank him enough. Actually, thank you to our "other" angels in the family for the help you have given us, when not even asked. We will forever be grateful.

However, there is a downside to having Blaine not home every night and this is it.

Sam is utterly heartbroken. Since 5:00 this morning, he has been trying to be tough and hide his tears from his dad but they just keep rolling down his face. When Blaine left this afternoon, I came upstairs to find Sam sobbing as he is watching his dad drive away. I think this will be the toughest time because Blaine will not actually be coming home until the day before Sam's birthday. To tell you the truth, we are all mental midgets this time. It will be the longest we have been apart…ever.

Till the 24th, I will continue to try and keep Sam busy and hopefully the time will go by quickly. For all involved.

Love you, Blaine and thank you for making such a huge sacrifice for this family. You are truly a wonderful husband and father.
