You will have to excuse the lack of photos, it was a whirlwind and there wasn't time for pictures, as you can tell from the story below
Since Sam has been having an extremely hard time with going back to school, I thought a day doing "Sam" things would really brighten his day. He has wanted to go to the splash park for forever and with swimming lessons finally done, we had time to do such. Jenny and the kids were going to go with us and I was going on day I had Jade, so Sam had lots kids to play with. However, Jenny had to go to Oregon and Jade ended up going to Grandma Bobby's for the weekend. I felt so bad about no kids going but all Sam said, "It's okay, Mom, I can make new friends." I wanted to cry. Sometimes, it amazes me how adaptable Sam is. No, he is not okay with no brothers or sisters but thankfully he makes friends wherever he goes to help fill the void.
Anyway, my mom went with us for "Sam's day". We went to Wendy's and then to the splash park. I had brought magazines, books and my cross stitching to fill the time. I was planning on hours but 15 minutes later, Sam came back ready to go! Really?!?! I was so looking forward to relaxing on a blanket with a good book for quite some time. Sam was so jacked about going but once we got there, he had the attitude of been there, done that! Mom & I convinced him to stay awhile longer but that only lasted a half hour more. I'm not sure exactly what I expected. Sam is a fast movin' kid with the attention span of a knat and he usually doesn't stick with things for very long. I thought the multitude of kids would entertain him but nope, he was ready to go. Looking back I could have placed a few sprinklers on the lawn, placed a pool at the end of the slide and dropped a bucket of water on him once in awhile! He would have had just as much fun. Oh well, it was good that Grandma Tammie went with us and got time to spend with Sam before the dreaded 1st day of school begins.
